Skills Club typically relies on curricular courses to generate initial interest and create foundational skills that are related to the Provincial competition areas. The preparation that is necessary for a competition is usually beyond our curriculum and capabilities within the regular classroom, is specialized, and enriches programming. This specialized training is completed outside of classroom instruction and is a commitment for both students and instructors. Some of our student competitors have interests in areas outside of regular course offerings (ex. Robotics, automotive) and they are also eligible to compete. Usually these students are partnered with a professional within our community and an instructor within the school.
