Lloydminster Catholic School Division has expanded regular English and French Immersion Kindergarten programming from 50% to 60%. That means MORE Kindergarten for your child. This expanded program, known as Kindergarten Plus+, it is offered at Father Gorman Community School, St. Mary's Elementary School, St. Joseph Elementary School and École St. Thomas.  This allows for a schedule of three consistent full days each week resulting in an easier and more regular schedule for child care. The added time, about 20 days per year, includes small groups of students working with teachers to further develop their pre-literacy and numeracy skills. Each school's program is parallel, focusing on the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of your child. Your child will be exposed to a multitude of activities that promote individual growth and development.

JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN

In JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN (formerly Little Learners) program, children learn through exploring play centres aimed at developing the whole child. This opportunity is for families with four year olds joining us for Kindergarten programming. More information on Junior Kindergarten can be found HERE.

Kindergarten is the beginning of a child’s thirteen year journey to form their future.  It is a time of wonderment, curiosity, enthusiasm and joy.  As students enter Kindergarten in LCSD, each of these will be brought out in a way that allows your child to develop in his/her own unique way and bring out their love for learning.  This is accomplished through a faith infused approach that ensures our mission statement comes alive in a way that is meaningful for four and five year old children.  Your children will experience a play-based approach that focuses on  numeracy and literacy skills, while ensuring children have ample opportunity to develop friendships with their peers.  Our teachers create meaningful learning opportunities  that look, sound and feel inviting for students to explore and inquire which enables them to find success in their learning and in developing their relationships.  Kindergarten is truly special time in  child’s life and our teachers and staff embrace this and bring it to life each day they spend with your child. 

Ang Kindergarten ay ang simula ng labing tatlong taon na paghahanda sa buhay ng isang bata upang mabuo ang kanilang matagumpay na hinaharap. Ito  ay ang panahon na kung kailan napupukaw ang kanilang pagtataka, kuryusidad o pagkakausyuso, pagkasigasig at kasiyahan. Sa pagpasok ng mga mag-aaral sa kindergarten sa LCSD, ang bawat isa sa mga ito ay mailalabas sa pamamaraan na nagpapahintulot sa inyong mga anak na bumuo ng kanyang natatanging sarili at pagmamahal  sa pag-aaral. Ito ay nagagawa sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay kahulugan sa pananampalataya na naging batayan sa pahayag na misyon na makakatulong sa pang araw- araw na makabuluhang karanasan para sa apat (4) at limang (5) taong gulang na mga bata. Ang inyong mga anak ay magkakamit ng kaalaman sa pamamagitan  ng paglalaro na nakatuon sa pagsasanay sa pagbilang , pagbasa at pagsulat habang tinitiyak na ang bawat isa ay may sapat na pagkakataon na mapaunlad ang kanilang pakikipagkaibigan sa kanilang kapwa. Ang mga guro ay lumilikha ng mga makabuluhang pagkakataon na makakahalina sa mga mag- aaral na magsiyasat  at magtanong na siyang magbibigay daan upang matamo ang tagumpay sa kanilang pag-aaral at sa pagbuo ng isang mabuting relasyon. Ang kindergarten ay tunay na espesyal na panahon sa buhay ng isang bata. Ito ay nagbibigay ng natatanging karanasan sa mga guro at iba pang miyembro ng paaralan sa araw-araw na kasama nila ang inyong mga anak.

Mother Teresa Early Childhood Education Center provides parents with the opportunity to register their child in a city-wide, full-time Kindergarten program.  This full time Kindergarten program (for eligible children) is only offered at Mother Teresa Early Childhood Education Center.  The program is parallel with Kindergarten Plus+ having additional time to further enhance student skills.

We see Kindergarten as a key phase in your child’s development. Therefore, we encourage you and your child to visit our Kindergarten programs and tour our schools prior to your child beginning school. Children who are five (5) years of age as of December 31 of the current year shall be admitted to Kindergarten.
